Welcome to St James CE Primary School
Working together to achieve excellence within a caring Christian community of faith, hope and love.
A Warm Welcome to St James (Daisy Hill) CE Primary School
It gives me great pleasure as Headteacher of St James, Daisy Hill, to welcome you to our school and introduce our bright, busy and exciting Christian school community. I hope that by using our school website you will get a picture of our vision, aims and the values that we uphold.
From the moment that you step into St James you will find us to be a caring school, full of happy, friendly children who are polite, engaged in their learning and evidently proud of their school. We have high expectations at St James and our staff work hard to ensure that all children are encouraged and supported in developing good learning behaviour and the social skills to equip them for the journey ahead.
I am passionate about ensuring that every child at St James reaches their full potential and I hold a firm belief that all children can and will succeed and achieve. As the Headteacher I am committed to ensuring that all of the children love coming to school every day and experience a rich and diverse curriculum that is exciting, engaging and inspiring.
At St James we believe that a strong partnership between home and school is the best foundation for a positive and successful education. Our parents and carers share this view and we work together to make each child’s experience as fulfilling as possible ensuring highly successful outcomes for all of our children.
We are extremely proud of our school and warmly welcome visitors. We hope that we will meet you soon.
With best wishes,
Our Christian Values
Our current Home School Value – Service, is very relevant given the current circumstances. It is clear that in our country and across the whole world there are so many people serving the needs of others, in so many ways.
This value also brings to mind the incredible service given by members of the Armed Forces, especially during the Second World War, as we remember the events of VE Day.
Please take the time, as a family, to look at the ideas sheet (available to download below) and complete some or all of the activities. We would love to hear from you, so please let us know (via Class Dojo) once you’ve completed the activities or if your family has taken part in any acts of ‘service’ during recent weeks.
