Welcome to St James Out of School Club

At St James Out of School Club, we are dedicated to providing a safe, caring, and enjoyable environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. We offer high-quality wraparound care for children attending St James (Daisy Hill) CE Primary School and Nursery.

Our Facilities

We currently operate across two dedicated sites to ensure age-appropriate care and support:
  • Nursery and Reception Children are cared for within our Nursery building by experienced Early Years qualified staff.
  • Year 1 to Year 6 Children attend our provision based in the upper school building on the main school site.

We provide a child-centred service where children are listened to, valued, and encouraged to participate in a wide range of engaging activities. Our team is committed to making every session fun, interactive, and memorable, and they are always happy to join in the activities too!

A Typical Day at Our Club

 
Breakfast Club
Breakfast Club opens at 7:30am. Upon arrival, all children are signed in by a parent/carer. Children are then offered a healthy breakfast before enjoying opportunities to socialise with friends and staff or take part in a range of activities and play experiences.
After a tidy-up session, staff escort children to their classrooms in time for the start of the school day at 8:50am.
 
After School Club
Our After School Club provides a safe, welcoming, and engaging environment where children can relax and enjoy a range of activities at the end of the school day.
  • Nursery and Reception children attend sessions in our Nursery building from 3:20pm to 5:50pm.
  • Year 1 to Year 6 children attend sessions in our school building from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.
Children are collected directly from their classrooms by our club staff, and attendance is recorded upon arrival.
During the session, children are provided with a healthy snack and have the opportunity to socialise with friends, take part in planned activities, and enjoy both indoor and outdoor play. Children may also choose to complete homework or reading activities in a supportive environment.
All children remain in our care until they are collected and signed out by an authorised parent or carer.

Session Fees

  • Breakfast Club: £5.50 per session
  • After School Club: £10.50 per session

Our day…

Breakfast Club opens at 7:30am. All children must be signed in immediately upon arrival om the register provided. Our children then have the opportunity to have breakfast. Following breakfast, our children have the chance to chat and socialise with other children and adults and are encouraged to join in the activities or play. After tidy up, staff are assigned a year group to take to school in time for the start of the school day at 8:50am.

After School Club runs from 3:30pm to 6:00pm.  After School Club staff collect children from school and a register is taken. Our children have the chance to chat and socialise or play. At 4:45pm, all children sit down and are provided with a snack; children are then encouraged to complete their homework/reading until an authorised parent/carer collects and signs them out.
